I ventured out into unfamiliar territory this week.
I made pancakes on the griddle.

I am rather intrigued by griddle cooking. I like that I could make so many pancakes at once. With the size of my family, I already have to double the batter. So, I typically stand at the stovetop and flip pancakes for a very long time. The griddle is much more efficient.
But, the thing that really captured my attention was that I did not burn any of the pancakes. I did not have to adjust the heat while I was cooking. I even left some pancakes a while when I was distracted with a tiny tot. When I returned, they were not burned.
I am wondering if this is typical of a griddle? Is it hard to burn food on a griddle? What is its magic, I wonder?
The griddle just might become a major burn-free tool in my cooking....just like my trusty crock pot.
I just need to find more counter space to use it. The top of the washer seems a little odd.
