Five Years Old

This Lil' Cowboy is 5-years old today...

I love age 5. This is the age where my kids show a level of independence and behavior, that lets me know all of my love, attention, and training that I have been pouring into them for years, is actually working! Age 5 is the age of kindergarten. It is exciting to start school. It is exciting to watch the kids learn to read. I love age 5.

I am excited about Jersey #3 turning 5. He has been such a challenging child in his early years, so it is wonderful to see him growing into an independent, socially functional, sweet, & friendly kindergartner. It is even more exciting to see him start to sound out simple 3-letter words.

I am not in a hurry for my children to grow up. But, I am certainly releasing a sigh of relief that the developmental gap that Jersey #3 had before is closed up now.

Today was a day of celebration. It is easy to please Jersey #3. Cake, balloons, and presents are the important parts of a birthday for him. We also took him out to play at a local, indoor jumper place. He loves those bounce house jumpers.

He also loves to play the Wii. In this picture, he is filled with excitement about the new Wii games he received for his birthday.

He also asked for a new scooter....one with 2 wheels (in case we dared to consider one of the character toddler scooters with the 3 wheels). He assures me that he has the necessary balance to ride this scooter...

Happy Birthday Son!
