Swimming

Our children LOVE swimming.

It is a requirement for every hotel.  They ask if they can swim at Granny & PawPaw's house, even if we are visiting in the winter.  They often want to put on their swimsuits and climb into the bathtub to pretend they are in a pool.

I was cleaning with bleach the other day, and the scent reminded Jersey #1 of a swimming pool.  She made a comment about it, which excited the whole team to ask me if we could go swimming.

This was Monday.  Family swim night (where admission to the public pools is cheaper) is on Fridays.

Let's just say we had a very productive week this past week, as the kids were highly motivated to get to go swimming on Friday night.  I enjoyed clean bedrooms and joyful attitudes while working on schoolwork.  They even earned the privilege of inviting a friend to join us.

The pool we went to was indoor, and is open all year.

Even so, the weather was not swim-friendly.  I was wiping away snow flurries while I drove us to the pool.

I thought out loud that I must be crazy to take the kids swimming when snow flurries were outside.

I changed my mind within 5 minutes of being in the water.

As I was helping her swim, Jersey #4 looked up at me with a huge smile on her face and told me that this was the most fun day of her life.
