Give COAL for Christmas

I have discovered my absolute favorite fund raising gift this season: coal.

Check out The Adventure Project.

This project is providing household stoves to people in developing countries, focusing on Haiti right now.

Charcoal-efficient stoves reduce the smoke inhalation from preparing meals over traditional stoves and open fires. The website explains that acute respiratory infections are the number one cause of death in children under 5 years old, mostly due to breathing smoke while their mothers prepare meals.

This is a great way to help entire families, young and old.

The cause, alone, is worthwhile.

The coal theme is adorable.

According to the Santa Claus story, a person who is naughty during the year, receives coal in their stocking. Good kids receive gifts of toys and treats.

How fun is it to give our friends and family a lump of coal in their stocking this year!

The lump of coal comes in a beautiful gift box, with a note explaining the project.

A fun gag gift. A unique gift. And a great way to donate to a loving cause.
