Spring Cleaning

I am on a Spring Cleaning kick right now. I think I might be taking it just a tad too far, because my 18-month old pushed a chair up to the sink to help with the dishes today. I had no idea that I made washing dishes by hand look like fun.

Normally, I love to be organized, but I am not much of a housekeeper. I don't have a good schedule for scrubbing toilets and mopping floors. A little mess doesn't bug me. (I don't like icky smells though, so I do have my limits for how out of hand I will let a messy house go.)

I like to have a place for everything, and I like to find it in its place when I need it. I would like the kids to do a better job of putting their things back in their place, but that is still a work in progress at this point.

In my gene pool, some of the women keep a very clean house as a result of feeling that the rest of their life is out-of-control. I suppose it gives them a sense of security to control the clutter & dirt. I can see where this habit arrives. My life feels out-of-control right now, and I am finding it rather therapeutic to clean.

Everything else is up in the air, but the house is starting to look cleaner.
