The children and I watched a movie that was set during the pioneer days. In this movie, a woman is shown trying to chase down a chicken from the hen house to butcher in order to make fried chicken for dinner.
Some children would naturally be upset by this process of getting dinner meat. Jersey #2 is apparently NOT one of those soft-natured children.
The next day, while the kids were outdoors playing "house," Jersey #2 runs inside to grab a toy. As she runs past me to return outdoors, she hollers over her shoulder that she was going out to kill a pig so her "family" could have bacon for lunch.
