They took turns rolling the dough and cutting out shapes...
Waiting for the cookies to bake was the hardest part...
The youngest two decided they could handle the next batch on their own...
Frosting, decorating, and eating the sugar cookies was a great reward for all that hard work...
I set out with the goal to bake cookies to hand out to friends. It didn't take me long to realize I had miscalculated my abilities. I cannot bake, cool, frost, and decorate the cookies fast enough to satiate my own family, let alone anyone else. 1 husband and 5 children engulf a half-dozen cookies with every serving! Plus, my husband eats them plain while waiting for one to be frosted.
This year, I am either going to have to skip the thought of passing out plates of cookies to my friends.....or learn to bake in the middle of the night when everyone else is asleep!
