She says that the things she likes best on her birthday are getting presents, and getting all of the attention! With those parameters, it is really easy to make her birthday special.
She had a princess-themed birthday party last Saturday. We invited (hired) Sleeping Beauty to attend. She does a fantastic job of entertaining the guests (most were also dressed up). She teaches them to curtsy and waltz. She dances with the birthday girl first, but she takes a turn with all the other guests too.
She brings the birthday girl a princess crown as a gift. She dabs magic fairy dust (glitter) on each guest's cheeks. She reads them her story, pausing to sing and dance along the way.
It is a very magical birthday. Our girls have loved them in the past, and Jersey #2 loved hers this week. In the past, Cinderella attended Jersey #1's 5th birthday, and Snow White attended Jersey #2's 5th birthday. I was thrilled that Jersey #2 chose to have a princess party again this year. Not only did I know another princess who could attend, but I also love this phase of girlhood. They grow up so fast already. Let's keep sweet and innocent a little longer....
