Thursday morning I was in the midst of cleaning up messes when I ran out of paper towels. Since we buy in bulk most of the time, I knew we had more in stock. Unfortunately, they were stashed on top of the freezer in the pantry area, and more were stashed up on the top-most shelf in the pantry hall. I could not reach any of them. I am not tall. My husband is tall. He can stash things in hard-to-reach-places, no problem. They are not hard-to-reach-places to him. He had already left for work, so I couldn't ask him to reach another pack of paper towels. The Pantry hall is crammed with junk for our upcoming yard sale, so there was no room for a step stool. Hmmm.... What to do? What to do?
This is one of those scenarios when fearless kids come in handy. I called Jersey #3 and asked him if he would let me hoist him up to the top of the freezer, so he could hand me down a roll of paper towels. He readily agreed, because he likes new adventure. "Sure, Mom. Can I stay up there and play?" I negotiated that he could stay on top of the freezer for the duration of the time that it took me to clean up the spill.....IF he would let me take his picture first!

I was not quite finished cleaning up the mess, when Jersey #4 discovered her brother and insisted that she be allowed to play up there too...

Those two make me laugh! They look so happy up there.
