Spending a Day Out With Thomas

Jersey #3 is completely enamored with Thomas the Tank Train Engine. He loves the metal trains, the wooden trains, the motorized trains, the movies, and anything that has a train on it. So, we knew this would be an ideal year to take him to the Day Out With Thomas event. This was our 3rd time attending this very family friendly event....we've gone even before Jersey #3 had time to build up a passion for Thomas. It is fun for all ages. The Day Out With Thomas is scheduled year-round, at various train stations around the country. This year, we went to the event in Durango, Colorado. In the past, we've attended the event in Durango, as well as Williams, Arizona. Each location has its own slight variation, but most of the activities are the same.
You pay for a ticket to ride a train that is pulled by Thomas the Tank Train Engine. It is a 30-minute ride, that moves slow and safe. The train ride in Durango is beautiful, because it runs along the Animas river.

After the train ride, there is a photo opportunity with Thomas...

And Sir Topham Hat (the conductor of the railway)....

There is a gift shop to buy souvenir T-shirts (and other goodies)....

The rest of the time we played in the train-themed wonderland...
(Which was free of charge!)

Bubble station...

A petting zoo....here we are learning how milk comes from a cow....

Balloons....

Interactive songs with a train conductor...

Temporary Tatoos....

Train playsets....

And a train jumper...

We have so much fun at this event. Here are some pictures from past events....
